Ok, you all know Facebook, the worlds #1 social networking site. However, a poll taken by a PCMag explained that customer dissatisfaction with Facebook is so high that up to 50% would be willing to abandon the website.
What are they doing wrong?
Competition. Facebook, Twitter and now Google+ are all social networking sites, each offering new features. But with new sites including Instagram, Schoolish and Decide are beginning to attract new users.
User experience. Social networks such as Facebook and Google+ limit our unique user experience (unlike Twitter, they you cannot change your wallpaper, username etc…).
Limited audience/user database. Facebook, Twitter and Google+ are good for meeting people, but they are not as specific as sites such as Insagram/Flickr (pictures), Blogger/WordPress (keen bloggers), Yahoo! Answers/Ask.com/Decide (looking for help).
Privacy. For those who don’t know, Facebook and Google are always monitoring you, what you search, who you are friends with, what sites you visit, your YouTube preferences and where you shop. This information is then sold to app developers and businesses.
If you would like to use a more private search engine try Startpage (recommended) or Ixquick.
